Please join us for our Fall Soundwaves concert, Echoes of Vienna,  featuring the Library's trio-in-residence, Lions Gate Trio. Katie Lansdale on violin, Darrett Adkins on cello, and Florence Millet on piano will present a wonderful musical whirl through the centuries, exploring three masterworks by composers influenced by the city of Vienna.

Beethoven, the ground-breaking genius of the Classical period, sparkles and enchants in his Trio Op.1 No.1.  At Beethoven's funeral, a young pallbearer was enthralled and inspired by Beethoven's music: the young Franz Schubertwould become Vienna's next musical wonder. The lyric majesty and charm of Schubert's E flat major trio is unforgettable, and nearly 200 years later, one of Schubert's beloved songs inspired a widely-heralded European composer, York Höller, to write his prizewinning Trio Tragträume (Daydreams). Don't miss this extraordinary musical event!
