Has any city ever been more a fount of music than Vienna? Over the past 300 years, Vienna has emerged as the wellspring for sparkling Classicism, swirling Romantic waltzes, and even daring new currents of pitch systems. From September 17-20, the Lions Gate Trio will be joined by 100 Hartt School students, faculty, and alumni and guest artists in a celebration of Viennese chamber and vocal music. Now in its 12th season, the Festival features works by Beethoven, Berg, Brahms, Eisler, Haydn, Mahler, Mozart, Schoenberg, Strauss, Webern, Wolf and even a leading voice of today, York Höller, whose music was inspired by Schubert.  Mark your calendars now for these extraordinary musical events! Free admission. Lincoln Theater. More information about this year's Ode to Joy can be found at this link.
