The Lions Gate Trio, an internationally-acclaimed ensemble performing in the U.S., China and Europe, brings together three extraordinary artists: violinist Katie Lansdale, cellist Darrett Adkins and pianist Florence Millet. Decades of collaboration has given the group a rich and varied career, combining concertizing and recording with working with young musicians in festivals, masterclasses and University programs. The Trio has presented live broadcasts on Norddeutscher Rundfunk in Hamburg, Radio France in Paris, and NPR stations in the US. Their performance at the Organization of American States was televised in nine states and sixteen Latin American countries.  

Winners of the Koussevitsky Award for recording and lauded by the press for their recordings and videos, the Trio has recorded for Triton and Centaur labels, presenting trios by  Ravel, Ives and Rebecca Clarke, duos and trios by Robert Schumann, new American trios, and the duo and trio music of French composer Nicolas Bacri. In September 2026, Triton/Hortus will release their most recent CD, Lumières. This highly innovative recording, supported by a generous grant from the  Kunststiftung NRW,  features trios by the father of French chamber music, Fauré, and  contemporary composers influenced by their years in Paris: Saariaho, Iannotta, Bertrand and Höller.  

Also passionate advocates of new music, the Lions Gate Trio has worked closely with a number of leading composers, including Ralph Shapey, Andrew Imbrie, Alexander Goehr, Augusta Read Thomas, Robert Helps, Eric Moe, Tamar Diesendruck, Evan Williams, Su Lian Tan, and Nicolas Bacri.   Their extensive programming has included complete cycles of the piano chamber music of Schumann, Fauré,  Brahms, Dvorak and Beethoven. Having served residencies at Tanglewood, Yale University and the University of Pittsburgh, they are now the trio in residence at the Fairfield and Guilford Libraries, as well as at the University of Hartford (Connecticut), where over 100 artists from New England have joined them annually since 2014 in their chamber music festival, Ode to Joy.
